In early 2012 we had a chance to upgrade to a penthouse unit in our condo in Coconut Grove. We love this five story building on the edge of urban district with its 40 units, underground parking and full time concierge.
This unit is a corner unit on the top floor facing south and west. While the layout of the unit was great, we thought there were a number of opportunities to improve the unit. Ceilings got raised, flooring changed, lighting changed and lots of tweaking of the systems.
On the terrace, we changed the flooring and drainage after a major unanticipated flood. Additionally, we added a pergola for some shade.
On the roof, there is a wonderful deck that got improved with major plantings and great furnishings.
